Ashley Dupre in Girls Gone Wild – The story goes that owner of Girls Gone Wild, Joe Francis, offered Ashley Dupre one million dollars to do a nude photo shoot for a magazine he was launching. One of Joe Francis’ was going through the Girls Gone Wild archives and recognized Ashley Dupre in one of the videos. Needless to say the million dollar offer was revoked and Ashley Dupre’s 7 scenes from the week she spent on a Girls Gone Wild tour bus in Miami (for her 18th birthday —nonetheless) was marketed for $29.95, adding more money to Joe Francis’ fortune.
There was some controversy involved as Ashley Dupre claimed that she was underage at the time the pictures were taken and that she had not signed a model release, which is required in order for Joe Francis to be the owner of the pictures and videos. Ashley Dupre sued Joe Francis and tried to get a judge to order an injunction against Girls Gone Wild to stop selling the footage until she had her day in court. Joe Francis quickly produced the model release and all other relevant documentation proving the time and date as well as consent from Ashley Dupre and the law suit was withdrawn.
